Signal Quality Error on a FastPath 5 (644783-DP96)

Product: FastPath 5 v1.0
Component:
3rd Party Product(s): Release Date: Pending

The Signal Quality Error (SQE) is enabled on a 10 Base-T Ethermodule for a FastPath 5. On the Ethermodule board there is a dip switch that has 4 switches on it numbered from 1 to 4. In order to see these switches, the power on the unit must be turned off and the 10 Base-T module must be removed from the unit. You will then be able to view that by default, switch 2 is off. This means that the SQE (Heartbeat) is enabled. If you were to turn the switch on, you would disable it.

The functions of the other switches on the module are as follows:

Switch 1- Not used
Switch 2- Signal Quality Error (switch off means enabled, switch on means it is disabled)
Switch 3-Link Integrity (switch off means enabled, switch on means it is disabled)
Switch 4-PRC- Polarity Reverse Correction (switch off means enabled, switch on means it is disabled)

By default, all of the switches are off.
